André Marcassa is a Partner since January 2023. He has 16 years of experience in a full-service office in São Paulo, advising financial institutions and national and international business groups on judicial and arbitration claims. Currently, he focuses its activities on national disputes related to credit recovery, in cases of transnational insolvency and international recovery of misappropriated assets, as a result of fraud in Brazil and abroad, in matters involving liability for debts and veil piercing theories. He obtained a Master’s degree in Civil Procedure from the University of São Paulo in 2015 and an LLM from the Northwestern School of Law (Chicago) in 2018. In 2018/2019, on a temporary professional license, he worked as an International Lawyer at a leading litigation firm in New York, in the area of ​​credit recovery, transnational insolvency, and fraud investigation involving complex offshore structures, trusts, and foundations. At the moment, he is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Civil Procedure at the University of São Paulo, developing the academic thesis on the topic of “Liability for Debts in Corporate Fraud Matters”, expected to be concluded in 2025.

He is a member of the M&A and Corporate Reorganization Commission of CAMARB and of the Banking Law Commission of São Paulo State Bar. Co-Author of book chapters and author of national and international legal articles.
